landscape paintings of ferry boat, washington

Here’s another painting that has not yet been added to my web site. Just email me if interested. Those birds are looking out at Edmond’s Washington. What a view!

Midwestern Blue Grass, oil painting of hay bails and fields.

MidwesternBlueGrass-rasche

“Midwestern Blue Grass”, available at SouthWind Gallery (785) 273-5994. They ship.
8×12″ oil painting on canvas by Jessie Rasche

It’s been a busy few weeks. This painting and three others are on their way to the SouthWind Art Gallery in Topeka, KS. It really feels good to have paintings packaged up safely and on their way. And my studio is 1/2 way fixed up the way I want it. It’s a beautiful space; I’m just turning it into a painting studio by taking off the wallpaper border and taking down the deep shelving and putting up narrow shelving for small paintings and open areas for big paintings… Below is a section of the wall that’s done. Now I need to get some new paintings to the Pam at the South Dakota Art Museum – thank you for carrying my paintings, Pam!

Portrait artist paints Wilt – painting of wilting flowers by Jessie Rasche

“Wilt” / 8×6 in / oil painting on canvas / available in my gallery of available paintings / inquire / love it guarantee

Flowers start out beautiful, and then become more and more interesting as they age. Here are some flowers mid-wilt. I really liked the way these flowers have started spraying over the side of the vase. The colors are much nicer in the actual painting – I need to spend some time setting up a photo area, but it’s hard to take the time away from painting… – see other floral paintings

Blossoms Flower Painting – art gallery of Jessie Rasche

NEW:  I will be making some sketches available

I’ve been painting some flowers set up in my window again… And in the process I pulled out some of the first flowers I painted. Here they are!

Above: Blossoms / 6×8 / oil on canvas / Visit Sketches Page

White blossoms from the back yard. I like the translucence that came through in the green soda bottle.

Below: Weeds / approx 9×9 / oil on canvas / Visit Sketches Page

These flowers look like black-eyed susans to me, and they are growing in huge numbers in empty lots around here. They’re very pretty.

Orcas Island in Purple – landscape painting by Jessie Rasche

“Orcas Island II” by Jessie Rasche Approx. 12 in x 18 in / oil on wood / available in my gallery of available paintings / inquire / Love It guarantee

I love this painting, but the original photo I took of it was terrible. I think this shows it a little more accurately. It’s pretty monochromatic – I love painting monochromatic landscape paintings – and very muted purple.

This is a painting I did a while back from a photo from our holiday to Orcas Island. That is a wonderful place to paint – I got a lot of good paintings out of that trip, some plein air and more from photos.

Portrait artist paints a mom and baby in Comfort – portrait painting by Jessie Rasche

SOLD / Comfort / 6×6 in / oil on linen / available paintings art gallery

This portrait painting of a baby nestled in with mom is one of my favorite paintings. It just makes me happy. Thank you so much to the mom who shared this intimate photo with me! I’m so glad you love it!

Peach Tree – a landscape oil painting by Jessie Rasche

Peach Tree / 6×6 in / oil on linen

This painting of a peach tree shows one of the many trees at the U-Pick farm. We went a few weeks ago, but the peaches weren’t ready yet… But my son got to ride a horse and a pony, so it was worth the drive.

I think this is one of my best paintings so far. I’m so happy with this little painting that I’m planning to do a really big one of the same subject.

Coming Home, landscape oil painting of Eastern Washington by Jessie Rasche

“Coming Home I”
12 in x 18 in, oil on wood

On the way home the clouds and wind were amazing. When we stopped at a rest stop and opened up the truck door, it almost flew off. I wanted to capture that rain cloud and the atmospheric effect. This has some of the same colors as Orcas Island II in the mountains…

Colors for Rattlesnake Ridge

Rattlesnake Ridge in Green / 12 x 16 in / oil on stretched canvas / $500 includes frame and shipping

Above and below are two landscape paintings from Rattlesnake Ridge with very different color schemes. We love to troops around there (rather carefully around the rocks).

Sun on Spring Trees / 6×8 in / oil on wood / $180

I took a break from my big paintings today to do this landscape painting. I was trying to figure out the color scheme of this spring/winter scene. The sky is yellow in the painting – it doesn’t come through in the photo.
