Sailboats

My fourth sailboat painting is complete! They’re each 40″ square on nice gallery wrapped canvas. The paint is so thick there’s some dimension to these paintings! If you click and zoom in, you can see the pallet knife work… Thanks for looking, and as always, let me know if I can be of any assistance in your art collecting adventures.

Lake Retreat

Here’s an idea I put together for a potential client. I painted some small color sketches but wasn’t happy enough with them… So I made this larger 11×14″ painting. I’m hoping they love it and want some version of it much larger. Below is a little detail photo.

I have all kinds of memories associated with specific colors. Teal and salmon remind me of Tucson and a good friend and bike riding. And cadmium red reminds me of my grandma’s lipstick. So for me, this is a happy color combination.

What colors give you the strongest / happiest memories? You can let me know in the comments.

Windmill, Minnesota landscape painting

I love the windmills around South Dakota and Minnesota. There’s an area on the Western edge of Minnesota that I drive through on my way to my mom’s house that is pretty glorious. The windmills look like giant flowers all spread around.

I’ve got a new page for farm paintings. If you get a chance, check it out and let me know what you think.
