Cow painting (available). Minnesota and South Dakota landscape paintings.

Happy Valentines Day! I’m feeling super grateful for my wonderful husband, son, family and friends.

This morning I finished Girl Next Door. This is another luxuriously thick painting with a lot of brush strokes and pallet knife marks. I uploaded the detail photo to show the thickness and texture. Click here for more info.

The giveaway for this Friday will be a print of this painting! I’m really trying to grow my newsletter subscribership, so PLEASE share with your friends! I’ll draw from all newsletter subscribers – girl-next-door-detail

Space (SOLD). Minnesota and South Dakota landscape paintings.

Going down the road in South Dakota, you look to the left and to the right and there are lovely fields with hay bales and the occasional house and barn surrounded by wind blocking trees. It’s a sparse vast land that is just full of color. That’s why this painting is named “Space.”

Sometimes I have to just let a painting live in the studio for a long time before I’m ready to ‘put it out there’. Does that happen to you? This is definitely one of those.

Purchase, or see up close here. Comment, email or call with any questions.

cow painting in SD.

Any suggestions for what I should name this painting? I was thinking something about drinking water or farming… I don’t know.

It’s 18×24″, and it’s almost  done. I want to finesse the woman – her face especially.

Here’s a detail photo of the woman and a few cows behind her. There’s a group on the upper right as well. farm-detail-rasche

Weekend in Minnesota

Last weekend we ‘camped’ in a cabin. I took lots of photos of beautiful farmland for painting references. I want to paint a handful of them. Lately the things that I’ve been really drawn to for painting material are the farm equipment and roads going off into nowhere. Here is a beautiful farm house.

On a personal note, my son went fishing for the first time last weekend. He’s been wanting to do that for a couple years now.
