Blossoms Flower Painting – art gallery of Jessie Rasche

flowers-jraschesm

NEW:  I will be making some sketches available

I’ve been painting some flowers set up in my window again… And in the process I pulled out some of the first flowers I painted. Here they are!

Above: Blossoms / 6×8 / oil on canvas / Visit Sketches Page

White blossoms from the back yard. I like the translucence that came through in the green soda bottle.

Below: Weeds / approx 9×9 / oil on canvas / Visit Sketches Page

These flowers look like black-eyed susans to me, and they are growing in huge numbers in empty lots around here. They’re very pretty.

Portrait artist paints Trio – figurative painting by Jessie Rasche

Trio / 6×6 in / oil on canvas / This painting isn’t available yet – but here are my available paintings of people.

I’ve darkened up the background in Trio to make it a little stronger. It’s still pretty abstract (it’s 3 boys on a tire swing). I’m not sure it’s done yet – but I’m really drawn to this composition. What do you think?

Here’s what it looked like before. I really liked it, but thought it was a little too washed out. I think I’ll try this again with a light background around their heads and see how that works.

If you liked this post or painting, please share it with your friends on FaceBook, Twitter, or through Email! Remember to write a personal note, so that your friends read the post!

Portrait artist paints a mom and baby in watercolor

Baby Carrier / by Jessie Rasche / 3.5 x 5.5 in / available in my gallery of available paintings / inquire / Love It Guarantee

This is my first completed watercolor painting since the workshop I took last weekend with Stan Miller. What Stan taught about composition really resonated with me, and I’ve realized how I can better follow my heart in this area. And more importantly he gave me structure and ideas for evaluating my compositions that I didn’t have. Anyways, can you tell the difference in my composition? What do you think? I’m happy, and I might make a big oil painting from this small work.

“Cows” cow painting, Landscape paintings of cows.

SOLD. Cows / oil painting on canvas / 8×10 in / More paintings of animals in a landscape.

Cows (probably Jersey cows) eating hay. I love cows, and I’m really happy with this one.

I went to an artist gathering / show & tell and was both inspired and encouraged.
