About Commissioned Paintings

Each project is different. To get a no-pressure, no-commitment price for your commissioned painting, contact me. Scroll down for information and commissioned painting examples.

I’m booked out several months. If you’d like to get onto my schedule, contact me.

I am not currently taking memorial portraits, or projects with conceptual or asperational aspects (meaning you want something from your imagination painted). I do reserve the right to decline painting projects. I decline any projects that I don’t feel I could do a great job at, or that would take more time than I have in my schedule.

Process

First, I visited with the client and took a couple hundred photos of the young woman interacting with her horse, and then searched through the photos looking for ones that captured their personality and relationship. There was a client-visit to the studio to see paintings of different sizes and to help them decide on the right size for them.

The video above starts with me sketching up some of the collector’s favorite poses, to help with decision making. When the focus is narrowed down to just the young woman and horse, it’s easier to see what will come through in the portrait painting.

Past Commissioned Portraits of Children

I love painting kids, and moms and kids!

Thank you so much to all the families who have entrusted your mom and baby portrait project to me!

The people who commission child portraits from me are both parents and lovers of art.  They want to capture a delightful and fleeting time in their child’s life in a beautiful painting that will enrich their home.

Here are a few of these portraits.
