Process
Click the image below to watch a portrait painting come to life
First, I visited with the client and took a couple hundred photos of the young woman interacting with her horse, and then searched through the photos looking for ones that captured their personality and relationship. There was a client-visit to the studio to see paintings of different sizes and to help them decide on the right size for them.
The video above starts with me sketching up some of the collector’s favorite poses, to help with decision making. When the focus is narrowed down to just the young woman and horse, it’s easier to see what will come through in the portrait painting.
Pricing
- Commissioned paintings of animals, children, and landscapes start at the same price as my non-commissioned paintings. Contact me for a current price list by size.
- Committee review, or needing to get approval by more than a single person, will increase the price since it increases the complexity and time involved in a painting.
- Memorial portraits take at least 3 or 4 times as long as other portraits and commissions, so I do charge more for those. Contact me for a price based on the complexity of your project.
- I decline commission projects with conceptual or asperational aspects (meaning you want something from your imagination painted).

Love it Guarantee
I hope you will love your painting, and that it will bring you joy for decades to come.
I put my heart and soul into all of my paintings, and so far, all of my collectors have reported that they love their paintings when they are complete. If, however, you are not happy with your portrait painting, let me know and we can talk about whether or not some changes to the painting would make you love it. I’ll either make changes or refund the payments you have made beyond the non-refundable deposit.
I want each collector to love their painting, and will do what I can to make sure that happens!
