Portrait artist paints a Mom Loving project – portraits of moms and children bonding

I have been planning this for a couple years but haven’t been quite sure how to announce it. I finally decided to just go for it, so here it is! If you have any friends that might be interested, please forward this.

Contact me for information.

Portraits of “Mom Loving” project: The “Mom Loving” project will be a series of 30 small “portraits” (approx 6×6 – 6×8) of moms bonding with babies (nursing, sleeping with, cuddling or otherwise bonding with infants or toddlers).

Why? I am really interested in the different aspects of moms bonding with babies and want to explore that through this series of portraits.

How? If you are interested in having one of these small portraits, or just have a great photo that you’d like to share with me, email me.

For this project I am looking for candid-looking photos, and especially ones that have good light (Outdoor with light from the back or side is best)  and are good enough quality to see some details, and which are taken far enough away that most or all of the mom and child are in the picture. With that said, I’ve received a couple fuzzy and very close up pictures that will work nicely. See my Peaceful People series for examples of the types of paintings / portraits these will be.

If I paint from your photo, you will have the first opportunity to purchase the painting at a preset price.

You will see the first painting on this blog in a couple days!

Only send a photo of yourself that you can give me permission to paint.

Any questions, comments or suggestions appreciated!!

NEWS – Last weekend the show at Little Spokane River Artists Studio Tour was a big success! Yeah! I’ve sent welcome emails to everyone who stopped by my booth and signed up for my e-newsletter, and newsletters to everyone who has ever signed up. (If you have not received the email or newsletter, let me know.)

When I wrote out all of the things that happened this summer, I realized I’ve been busy! Many new paintings both big and small (several not yet posted), participating in the Little Spokane River Artists Studio Tour, showing at Second Space Gallery in Spokane, and more. And my beautiful son turned 3 this summer! Wow!
