Layers of Warm, abstract painting #4 for 2017

OK, this one actually looks like it glows. I am loving that. I want to use the glowing effect for some landscapes next month! Click to Bid

One thing I think about a lot during my “regular” representational paintings is how thick the paint is… I want to have interesting areas where the paint is thin, and other areas where the paint is thick – so that there is ongoing interest for the paintings. With this painting I just experimented with that idea. Can you see all the layers? Do you like it or hate it?

I got my pouring medium in the mail today and am experimenting with it. It added some great shininess, plus I was able to do something pretty fun with using it to keep the paint wet in certain areas so I could wipe it back off with a brush for a sort of boutique look.
