Hiding, and good art news

Hiding, 11 x 14″, available.

I’m trying out an s-curve design. The painting came out a little windy feeling, and the grass feels plush to me, and happy, too. What do you think?

I just found out Breakfast in a Spring Thaw was accepted into the South Dakota Governor’s 8th Biennial Art Exhibition!

The event at the South Dakota Art Museum last week was great! Thanks so much to everyone who stopped by, to new collectors and new followers!! And thank you, Pam of SDAM, for the invitation! Here’s what my front table looked like, with the new small works. Several went home with new collectors, and the rest are now available in the SDAM gift shop.

Last week I finished a dad and son portrait that I (and more importantly, the collector) really love. The frame arrived today, so I’m just waiting for the portrait to dry so it’s safe to ship. It’s a commissioned Christmas gift, so I’ll show you a photo after Christmas! I really love painting portraits…

Early this week I finished up a landscape commission I’ve been working on for a couple months. This has been one of the most challenging paintings I’ve ever done. I’ll post a little video about what it is all about after it’s dry and hung for the collector.
