Below are the artworks currently on display at SouthWind Art Gallery. This collection is a selection of prairie paintings of Kansas, South Dakota, Minnesota and Nebraska. The landscapes feature the animals of the prairie (birds, cows and horses) and the vastness of the land. The skies range from the bright blue teal of a sunny day to the beautiful greys of a foggy fall morning, and the red-orange glow of a sunrise over snow.

There are also a few paintings of Oregon and Washington, in appreciation of the place I am from. They celebrate the mountains and green valleys of the Grande Ronde Valley, and the cows and doves of a Spokane area farm.

All of the paintings express a love of the land and animals, and have sophisticated subdued colors with painterly, textural oil paint applied with brushes and pallet knives (or in a couple cases, acrylic paint – as noted in the painting description).
