I love animals, as you can probably tell. I have two canine studio helpers. Here’s Dozer.

I have wonderful collectors across America, Canada, and in the UK, and substantial paintings in several public collections.

As soon as a collector purchases a painting, I carefully wrap it and ship it out with tracking and insurance.

Just a quick note to say the painting arrived safely – definitely the best packing job I have ever seen.  The painting is fabulous, even better than expected.  Thanks so much for sending it off so quickly and safely.

Why I Paint Animals & Children
I have always loved the feeling of being around animals, but now that we live in South Dakota, on the edge of a college town, birds are all over our house and yard every day and there are fields of horses and cows within view.

Paintings are my way of describing the connection I have with the land and animals around me.

I hope you feel the soothing energy of birds through these bird paintings, and that this artwork bring you a feeling of joyous connection.

Exhibition at Johnson Fine Art Center at NSU, Aberdeen, SD

“Jessie is an American Artist, based in South Dakota. She specializes in oil portraits of children and landscape paintings filled with animals. Her brushy, painterly style expresses a love of the material as well as the subject matter, and is inspired by Contemporary Realists as well as the Impressionist and Classical movements of the past.”

The paintings in the top photo are part of my Infinite Landscape exhibition, which has shown at Johnson Fine Art Center at Northern State University, and then at the Bates Trimble Gallery at Washington Pavilion. I am currently in the process of finding the next location for this exhibition to travel to. If you are a museum curator who would like to exhibit this group of works, contact me.

The exhibition contains 38 paintings, which can be added to or subtracted from to best fit the exhibition space.

For Interior Designers
In addition to showing my work through my studio (on this website), and in galleries in the Midwest and West Coast (and soon on the East Coast), and the traveling exhibition showing at Art Centers – I also like to work with Interior Designers. If you are an interior designer and would like more information about the benefits of working with me, let me know.
