The above photos are from a collector in Sun Valley, Idaho, who first found my work through Shain Gallery in Charlotte, NC and purchased the chicken painting (top left) there. Then she joined my newsletter and browsed my website and contacted me about purchasing the horse painting (top right). I talked to the gallery, and they organized things so that the collector could purchase the painting through them, and I shipped the painting directly to the collector.

Portraits of a great East Coast family, collected over many years.
This wonderful collector was one of my first collectors to purchase a mom and baby portrait! Those are very small portraits of moms bonding with their babies, painted in oil on canvas. I loved how her painting came out, so I was excited when she contacted me to paint a dad and baby portrait! Over the course of a decade, I’ve had the opportunity to paint 4 small portraits of this lovely family.

“I received the painting and the calendar today. I love both! I was pleasantly surprised to find the calendar is larger this time. That’s a plus for me. And it’s loaded with chickens! There is something about chickens that draws me to them and, for some reason, makes me smile and even sometimes laugh.
Jessie, the painting is wonderful. I opened it slowly and made sure it was upside down before I looked at it. To increase the anticipation! When I flipped it over it just filled me with joy and put a big happy smile on my face. The “Red Barn, White Cows” evokes so many memories and emotions. Living in a mostly rural area all my life I have this thing about barns. They put me in awe. After all these years I’ve taken to trying to really understand what those feelings are all about. Your art captures all that in this one small painting. I love it!”
