“This painting feels to me like we’re looking at flowers that were arranged as part of the decor for some kind of party, and now the guests have all gone. Even though it’s quiet, the impression of movement and music and laughter are still echoing around the space, almost like the flowers “remember” it all. A kind of nostalgic calm after a joyful storm.”
